Propane is a three-carbon alkane, normally a gas, but compressible to a liquid that is transportable. It is derived from other petroleum products during oil or natural gas processing. When sold as fuel, it is commonly known as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG or LP-gas), which can be a mixture of propane along with small amounts of propylene, butane, and butylene. The odorant ethane thiol is also added so that people can easily smell the gas in case of a leak.

Look at the gauge attached to the tank with numbers from 5 to 95. Numbers indicate the percentage of gas remaining in the tank. If your tank gauge reads 25 % or less, call your propane supplier for a refill. We recommend that you learn how to read your tank gauge, and develop the habit of checking it on a regular basis, especially if you choose not to participate in our company's Keep-Full program.
